Laptop cooling

Hi
I am thinking of building a laptop cooling pad for my asus n56vz-ds71.
I was wondering, if i build a air duct (that goes staight into the cooling intake) That has a heatsink inside with a peltier unit atached to the heat sink and a fan blowing it into the laptop, will this be affective? The idea is that as the air passes the heatsink witch is cooled by the TEC, it drops the temperature of the air before it cools the components.
Tell me what you guys thing ? Good idea or not ?
