Just be sure to use it on a flat hard surface with good ventilation underneath. And mostly, not on your laps laugh4.gif

 I've been thinking and noticed that I didn't ask question as I should ask it:

I want my CPU last as long as possible at those temps.

btw I disabled turbo boost and now on Call of Duty MW2 heats up to 87C max how much will that temp decrease

CPU lifespan?

Thanks,

cheers...

That's a pretty tough question to answer. Anything that is being exposed to constant heat for a long period of time, would likely to hit a snag later. That later can be for a very long time, or can be very quick smile.gif

How long could it last if max temp is about 86C with Tjmax of 100C?

I suppose that it is also tougj question...

Sure is smile.gif

To be honest, if you keep your temp well within the specification and range of performance, making sure that vents are clean and clear when using your comp, then you expect it to last you for long while. Remember, heat dissipation plays an important role as well. Just because your CPU can last long does not mean other parts can handle the heat just as well. So keep the heat moving around and away from the comp's internal winknudge.gif

Now, now ... let's not take the worry to extreme. The material used on a main board is pretty resilient to heat, but there are zillions tiny parts on that board that no one can know how it behaves when under extreme heat over long exposure. tongue.gif

Keep your temp within performance range specs, keep the system well ventilated and just enjoy it wink.gif

86C is still 14C less than tjmax... is it in performance range good temp?

Sorry if I'm annoying you, I'm just taking care of my pc...

Thanks!

Yep. You are (very) fine with the mentioned temp. No bother at all smile.gif

@xfim

dude do us a favor change the thermal paste! and if still you have trouble, you can´t change it and do not post it here!

you can´t change it! CPU life depends on various reasons, not only the heat!

only a thin film has to be placed between CPU and thermal Copper plate! not more, not less

post #35 of 77
Giving the facts that

a) the machine is still under warranty and
b) the temps are not of critical level and
c) that xfm is watching them temps closely -

I would just leave the re-pasting of thermal paste alone for now. smile.gif

sometimes people have Problems in their head oops.gif

@xfim

no one told you, with better temps in your cpu your CPU won´t get faster crybaby.gif

it´s only a issue if you overclock the CPU ban.gif
