What laptop should I buy???

Hey Guys,

 

I am new here and I would like some help concerning laptops and the features that I sould check before I buy one.

 

First of all, the maximum price that I am willing to pay would be 600 euros. 700 euros for something extremely special..!

 

Some info about how I'm using my computer:

I don't play games but I watch movies.

I am multitasking and as I am a statistician I use some programms like SAS, R, Splus and I am trying to learn C++. 

Sometimes I have too many data and my previous laptop was too slow. 

 

I would prefere the laptop to be DELL mainly cause of the guarantee.

 

Which features should I check and could you propose me any laptop?

You should not have to worry about warranty within the Eurozone, unless you are in the UK - since all electronics are bounded by a 2-years law, period. Look what happened to Apple getting whipped with their Apple-Care laugh4.gif

For your need I recommend you look into the Lenovo lines, perfect for programmers and they do run cooler than the Dell.
