Gateway NV55s webcam problems

Yesterday I attempted to install a liveupdate on my cybelink webcam which is installed on my new Gateway NV55s.  The update said that the webcam had to be uninstalled from the system.  It was supposed to do this automatically, but it didn't work.  Everytime I used the webcam it kept reminding me of the update.  As a result, I uninstalled the webcam completely from my computer and re-installed it from Gateway's website.  I have it working again, but the update still won't install.  When I click the desktop shortcut to use the webcam it pops up a dialog box concerning user controls and if I want to let the webcam make changes to my computer.  I de-activated the user control warning, because this got annoying.  My question is.......how can I get my webcam back to working the way it used to before I tried to install the liveupdate? , and why doesn't the update work with the webcam?  I have Windows 7 64 bit Home operating system.

Sounded like you would not need to have the "live update" ding from Cyberlink. System restore is the best bet without breaking something else

I did try system restore on about 3 different restore points with no success.  Could you tell me how to keep the user account notification active without having the dialog box pop up to allow changes everytime I want to use the webcam?  At this point the webcam is functional, but the account user notification off of the desktop shortcut is really annoying.  Thanks for your previous answer.

Try locating the Webcam executable -> Properties. -> Compatibility Tab. -> Run as Admin. -> Click okay.

See if that helps
