Acer Aspire 5739G Partitions Recover mess

Hello friends.
 Me.. Greek......english horrible....very sorry...bla bla bla...
In the beginning I knew a few.... "about my problems"  after i was in forums and I read hundreds of posts so now I know nothing! (just confuse).
In some forums they throw me out!   telling........-There are more serious problems....when you'll get them come back to fix them!
I would like to fix them before I get them so hopefully if someone could answer to my questions would help me a lot...
I am with Acer Aspire 5739G -Intel P7450 -Nvidia 240m -4Gb Ram
I had install Ubuntu (dual boot with W7 prem.x64) but I couldn't have internet (cause my Wind "stick-modem" accept only Windows and Mac) so I deleted, I took back the space to C: and I realized I could not boot, be into Windows 7 any more...So I run bootrec -fixboot -fixmbr and I was in !!
After I recovered to factory image.  But maybe I mess my mbr or booting order? I think something is wrong because I have "errors" just after the recovering to factory image. Like, I cannot run sfc from WinRe enviroment, it says "bootmgr is missing, restart is pending". I was expecting after a recovering that everything is just fine. I would like to bring the things like they where before. Laptop is in working state.
From left to right my partitions (in disk managment) now, are:
1) 12Gb - healthy - recovering volume
2) 3.5 Gb - healthy - oem
3) 100Mb - healthy - System, Active, first volume (NTFS)
4) 450Gb - heathy - Booting, pagefile, dump, logical drive (NTFS)
Unfortunatelly I don't remember the original partitions but I think was 3. Also when I made partitions for Ubuntu I think I had make 3 partitions but after it was possible to delete 2. I don't remember for sure(95% is true).

Also informations from diskpart command, at the side of every volume is written   -transposition xxGb.

Is it means that partitions have moved somehow? or is normal ?
I suppose the 3.5 Gb- is from Ubuntu? but is written -oem and both (with the 12Gb-recovering volume) are hide so I cannot manage them.
Ok this is my situation and below some more questions.
 1) Is it exactly the same a Vanilla clean install of W7 or a restore to factory image? If is not, where - what are the differents?

(out from the preinstall prog. is there a different in W7 os?)
After I restore I found logs from 2009! I suppose if you install from Ms original disk everything starts from that  moment.

   Am I right?
 2) Recovering to factory image is also formatting just the volume, all the disk or not at all?
 3) There are 3 ways for reinstalling W7.    a) recovery to factory image(alt+f10)    b) reinstall from recovering disks you have make     c) restore from a system image backup you took before.  What are the differents if any?

And is there one from the 3 ways will bring back the partitions like they was when I bought the computer?
I have a system image and the recovering disks only I don't have an original Ms W7 disk.
 4) If someone has an AcerAspire with original oem partitions he could tell me how exactly they are from left to right,

which is active etc.. so at least that I know how they have to be.

Also if someone can drive me how I can correct my hdd or any other information about is welcome..
I have much more questions....(errors in cbs.log or from wmidiag) but maybe is better to start new  threads to don't make here a brain-salat....              Just it does't make a sense after recovering to have them...
Is important for me to understand better because I haven't bring my data back so if the "story" becomes clear  is easiest to take an action now, to set everything well.... than later.. Any advice is usefull .......but
If nobody is in a mood to answer to the above....simply don't do it!
I will still be loving you!.......
cheers,,,(like qhn often or always says...)

1) Back to original state, when you first receive your comp

2) it will format everything, see 1)

3) a & b should be the same. c: depending on when you made the backup

4) system differs from one to another when reading the partitions. I would not be too concerned with it as long as you have a recovery partition to fall back on

cheers ...

 Hello Qhn. Thanks for reply.
By luck (games from life..), after my "long post" I found this page "http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd799232(v=ws.10).aspx"
where everything are explained with more accuracy. I am afraid to "play" and correct my partition without help. So I'll leave them like are now       (even if I loose 3.5Gb)...
In 1) question I mean -Will I won anything if I could have a Vanilla install? (out from the preinstall prog. I don't need them), eg. better respond from the os because of clearest registry etc.. or anything else.

I say this because many people "like crazy" want a clean install ...maybe they are dreamers.. never I had one so I don't know about.
In 2) maybe you are wrong? if it was true, after I recovered to factory image I wouldn't have this 3.5Gb partition which I suppose it stood there from Ubuntu or the system cannot manage it because is hide (no letter), or the recovering just format C: volume?

I don't understand. Be more clear if you know.
In 3) because there are special prog. to "clone" hdd I wanted to know if the "system image" is something like this. If not, it will backup only C:   (I don't want to try all the ways to find out which will correct my partitions).

Thats why I bother you. But slowly slowly I start to accept the idea of loosing 3.5 Gb...   Is it completely sure is not Windows volume? do you have an idea? Logical it doesn't need to be.    Right?
  Anyway...Thanks for your time..
Is a fantastic forum "Notebook"  always with very valid answers
       Cheers!........!!!!

Vanilla install is good in the old days of XP winknudge.gif at least for me. Nowadays, if I am not short on disk space, a disabling of non-needed tools and software is all I need to get the system clean and quick, and not to worry about if I removed something inadvertently

I don't understand. Be more clear if you know.

I only speak for personal experience. You recover the system using the recovery tools, it should wipe out the whole drive and start anew with its configuration process ..

http://www.z-a-recovery.com/art-partition-recovery.htm

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recovery_disc

(After accepting the license agreements for the software and operating system in some cases, the recovery program will usually reformat the hard drive and then begin copying operating system and software files (although some recovery systems, such as the ones utilized by Hewlett-Packard and Gateway, do offer a "non-destructive recovery" option which backs up data before reinstalling the OS).

the clone process depends on your choosing. And if the tool is good, it will clone the whole drive, down to the recovery and hidden partitions ...

  Yes!    Yes!!....   Yeeeeeeeeeeeeees!!!!.....
....and  I was wrong....in 2)
 Light!....  Goodness!!... Happiness!
So I'll share with you what I did in the case someone wants to know.
 I download EaseUs from here : http://www.partition-tool.com/download.htm
the free home edition. Right click on the hide partition. Give a letter-name
..and open it !  ! ! ! !!!!!!... What I found?......one from the few files with name Arcade !!!!
Is a hide partition from oem!!!  (Arcade de lux)     no Ubuntu....
I am sorry qhn for the 2) I wrote -maybe you are wrong...
The format maybe delete it but after with recovering reinstall it!
 ok! the mystery is gone.
Now I cannot bring the name to "none". EaseUs gives an error.
Do you know if is problem when a hide partition stay with a letter?
From my side the thread is closed.
Thank you so much for your good will...

I am not so sure about Notis. Being a good freeware can have some quirks in the performance. Error messages can be ignored in this situation, I think winknudge.gif

cheers ...
