I would like to upgrade the current 1 GB RAM to 3 GB.

A shop has listed its available RAM for notebooks as follows:
1GB DDR2 667/800 Kingston
2GB DDR2 667/800 Silicon Power
4GB DDR3 10600 Crucial
4GB DDR3 1333 Patriot

So, which RAM should I buy? Do I have to make sure it's DDR2 and not DDR3? And how about the frequency?

Despite specifying 1 GB RAM on the box, there's actually 2 sticks of RAM and 1 of them was not properly fitted. So, I've got 2 GB now.

The thread can be marked as closed.

Nice to hear. Thank you for posting and sharing smile.gif

Your memory stock specs stated DDR2-533 (PC2-4200) SO-DIMM - so DDR2-667 is the most I would push for, faster than this it's just gonna throttle down.

cheers ...
