Qosmio X505-Q8102X Problems

Hello

I just bought this qosmio x505-q8102x laptop used and I am having some issues with it. When I am on the laptop it will randomly lag. It does not matter what I am doing. I could be surfing the internet or playing a game or working in word. The computer will just freeze for a second to a few seconds and anything I did while it waqs frozen does not show up. Like if I was typing and it froze nothing I entered while it was frozen shows up. It also does not get the frame rates that I think it should in any game no matter what I have the graphics set to. Before I bought this laptop I looked it up online and I really did not find any red flags for this laptop. I have restored the laptop to the out of box state. The person I bought it from stated that toshiba replaced the motherboard about two months ago.

If anyone has any suggestions to try and fix this I would really appreciate it.

Check the ram modules out, replacing the hard drive. Take it apart, make sure that fan and heat sink area is clean, yes, the board has been replaced, but that does not mean that people takes time to clean up these area automatically winknudge.gif

sad.gif we can pretty much scratch out software as the culprit. I wonder if the motherboard replacement is still under warranty, giving that it is only 2 months old job

I don't believe that it is. What are you thinking could be the problem with the mainboard? I can send it back to toshiba and they could replace the mainboard again. It really isnt too costly less than $400 and the laptop is good enough to put the money in it. I just want to rule out everything else before I send it in to them and give them some of my money. You know what I mean?

Well you did the ram, hard drive, safe mode. You can try a clean install of OS or trying with another one like Linux per example and see if the intermittent lag goes away

cheers ...
