Studio 15 fan noise

Hi,

I've had my Studio 15 for about 3 years now I think but for a long time he has been blowing like an air plane all the time, even if he's at 60°c. He does blow louder if he's in the higher temperature range when for example I'm playing a game but even at lower temperatures when he's doing nothing sometimes the fans seem to go for full speed.

Can I solve this with some software, other bios, or do I just need to open it up and clean it?

Thanks.

Have you ever open the case and cleaned out the fan? The bios controls the fan speed based on the internal temperature, the laptop is dirty inside and fails to cool as well as it used to, so the bios runs the fan faster, Most people continue until the unit builds so much dirt and dust inside that the unit overheats and causes the hottest item inside the laptop to fail, your video chip. On your laptop, the video is located on the the motherboard, this will eventually lead to losing the motherboard. Once it is all cleaned out you can mealy blow air in to the laptop from where the heat exits, thus cleaning out the heat sinks as well.

Just my thoughts

Good Luck
