I recently got a new Toshiba satellite C855D-S5232 amd64 15.6" led display.windows 7 home premium.
I have these problems using it.
its optical drive is multi drive [what ever it means] is not just usable with out wasting lot of time and disks
if try to write a dvd it ends up not recognised disk even by the same drive.
the user manual or Toshiba support forum do not say anything about this part
it boots up for using this drive as a backup device and writes files in backup mode only.
it cannot read it as normal cd/dvd.
but sometimes it has worked as normal cd/dvd drive and written some bootable disk.
I really don't know what I did to get that
I installed windows8 pro and even that does the same thing. soon as I put a blank disk it pops up a folder saying files are ready for backup writing.
can anybody guide me how to configure this multi function drive as normal cd/dvd drive.
I do not use blueray,double layer disks.
the drive works in my Gentoo Linux installation in a partition as normal cdrom drive.
then the glass screen gives terrible glare , too much of brightness
brightness can be adjusted. any way to reduce the glare/reflection of back ground light , shadows
surely somebody must have used this laptop type.
any advice welcome.
otherwise I am happy with the performance of the machine.
