Acer 5560G windows 8 issues

Hello everyone,

I recently installed Win8 64 bit I obtained via MSDN into my Acer 5560G and downloaded and installed VGA, TouchPad, and Audio Drivers. Few weeks after i installed windows 8 i started running into problems. The HDD indicator light flashes continuously and Windows Task Manager shows 99%-100% HDD usage. Computer freezes up and becomes unresponsive. It happens every time i leave the computer idle for a while or when i boot up from hibernation. I used recovery and now i'm back in Win 7 and nothing like that happens in Win 7. I installed win 8 32 bit i obtained via MSDN in my Hp-mini netbook and there are no problems what-so-ever, but the acer one is giving me hard time. Please help!

How about trying with the upgrade process instead of a clean win 8 install?

I'm skeptic if that will work. I mean if it shows problems on clean install then it will probably show them on upgrade as well.

Nope. On the contrary. Upgrade gives one the better chance of keeping current working drivers
