I recently discovered that my DirectTV bill has doubled, and TiVo doesn't support satellite. So I'm trying to create a workaround using my beloved M17x. It can do everything else, right? =) So, I have HDMI connections and an extra external hard drive, can I use the factory installed FACAP and maybe some other software to capture the video signal once my computer is connected? Has anyone tried this? If I can't use FACAP, is there another video capture program that works well? Would I need anything else?
I'm hoping to get good quality results, if I can't also get audio or if it will be scrambled in some way, then that's not gonna work, lol.
