Howdy. I seek a new wireless internet router. It's been too many years since I last bought one, and now I am a bit lost in the sea of choices. What router do you use? What do you like or dislike about it?
I like the look of the positively-reviewed Linksys EA4500. As a parent of 2, I think it would be very comforting and useful to have customizable parental controls for each device connected to the network. I am also interested in the latest Apple AirPort Extreme Base Station. I know that Apple has parental controls as well. Does anyone know how the two compare?
Performance-wise, I will be using the internet to stream a lot of video. I may also do some other networking . . . at least between those two routers, which is best?
Also, is there a better option that I am ignoring entirely? Should I be looking for something that plugs directly into my notebook?
