M17x R1 memory upgrade question

Hi,
 
It's beginning to look like I didn't do my research enough because I recently got 8mb of PC3-10666 DDR3-1333 to upgrade my m17x laptop memory.  If I put those in the laptop stars with a blinking scroll caps light.
 
So my question is do I put these on Ebay and buy Pc3-10600 memory or is there some way to get the 10666 working?  I tried overclocking the memory and fsb both to 1333, but my system didn't like that either.

Take the loss and stick with PC3-8500 DDR3
