hp mini 110c-1100 battery status indicator

Hi all,

 

My windows XP battery indicator shows 50% always as if it is not able to detect the battery. I replaced the battery with new one and the same issue.

 

The battery gets charged but I just can't tell how much left when I unplug the AC power

 

I installed batteryBar and on the "battery" line it shows unknown.

HP check battery tool does not detect the battery

 

I think it is a driver issue but don't understand what is wrong and what needs to be update. I tried all the updated from HP except the bios as it gave me an error

 

Your help is appreciated

Hello,

 

Yes I tried this and it does not pick up the battery either. It comes up with this message

An unknown error 94. current state discharging 50%. An error was encountered while accessing the battery. please reinsert the battery and the AC adapter to retest the battery.

This is consistent what windows is reporting. I really tried everything. I have a feeling that it might be a hardware issue or a driver?

The replacement battery, was it an OEM or just a 3rd party compatible one?

I thought the original oem battery was the issue so I bought one third party with the same issue.
