"irql_not_less_or_equal", and "nfts.sys" BSOD errors on Windows 7

I currently have a G73JH-BST7 laptop with Windows 7. I've received a BSOD with "irql_not_less_or_equal" quite a long time ago, but it only happened a few times in a row in one "session" and didn't come up until recently. Last week I had a few "irql_not_less_or_equal" BSOD errors, but today I saw another one. Although I couldn't catch the rest of the text, it mentioned a "ntfs.sys" and an address of some sort.

I've tried snooping around, and it looks like many people have suggested replacing the RAM? I haven't touched the drivers of the G73JH-BST7 since I remembered reading some issues with them, but I have updated Windows 7 through the Windows update when necessary. I also have used a program called HD Tune Pro to check the health of my hard drive and external hard drive recently, and they seem to be without any issues.

Would anybody have any advice on how to proceed in this situation? If it is indeed the RAM that is causing this problem, it shouldn't be too difficult for me to order new sticks and replace the ones I already have... but if it were only that simple sad.gif. Hopefully it is! I just wanted to ask for some advice before I tried ordering RAM to find out that it wasn't the cause.

You can always try with one stick of ram (if you have more than 1) and see. I would run a chkdsk or a system scan to see if there is any corrupted files

cheers ...

Thanks, I was thinking I would just do myself a favor and replace all the RAM anyway (with 4gb sticks- it's on 3 sticks of 2gb... overkill, but why not? Maybe 2 sticks of 4gb is a good compromise). I'm just a little hesitant to order the new sticks of RAM since I feel like I might be wasting money if RAM isn't the true problem.

While I have some attention, I also noticed just yesterday before sleeping that I seem to have a battery issue. The laptop battery icon shows "73%, plugged in, charging", but the 73% never increases. If I unplug the power cord from the laptop, the laptop itself will instantly shut off... so I'm assuming that even though the computer reads 73%, the battery itself probably has no charge at all whatsoever. If I unplug and replug the battery while the computer's hooked up to the AC power cord, the little white meter inside the battery will fill up a few times as if charging, then freeze again at the 73% mark.

Would anybody have any idea what I can do about the battery in this case? I have no idea if the problem is the battery itself, or maybe the computer's charging port.

Try calibrate the battery if you can. Sounded like a dodgy battery to me

cheers ...
