Hi guys,

Has anyone attempted to upgrade their wireless card on n56vj laptop? How can I find out which wireless cards are compatible with this model?

Great, thank you so much. :-)

The Atheros sucks. Has really low download speeds. When I compare download speeds with my Mac on my home network I get the following

Mac: ~22mbps
Asus: ~7mbps

Well, it is not so much about hardware but also drivers and firmware and the whole working relationship between chips and fries winknudge.gif

Can't compare Mac and Windows ...

I agree, you can't compare Mac and Windows. IMHO OSX is far better than Windows, but it comes with a higher price tag.

The difference in download speeds is huge, a better wireless card should improve the numbers

I would review Windows Network Registry settings, the current card properties, drivers and the router configuration before investing on a new (better specs) card smile.gif

So, don't you think the price tag is justifiable taking in consideration getting newer device and spending time to fit it and make it work? tongue.gif
