Asus A53U. Disassembly Help. DC Power Jack

Thread Starter

HI

Asus A53U

The Power Jack SOCKET has sunk into the Computer a little way

So now the Power Supply Plug cannot get in far enough to make the Power connection

This is what I need to rectify

I presume that the other end is attached to the Motherboard

So I will need to take the Notebook apart before I can do anything

I have searched for ages in Google, but nothing found for this Model

The others had the Socket in Totaly different place

Any Help here, would be more than appreciated

Thanks

The clip holding the power jack can also be broken or fallen off inside the housing. What are the numbers behind the A53U? This model comes with many versions/configurations

Hi qhn thanks for reply (just got back from work)

Cant get into BIOS, so all following is from Labels

Model :   A53U

MB Ver:  KS3U               ID:18

Check No:  4384

MFD  2011/11

Warranty:12

Thanks a million for your reply

It does look like that, but I thought they were soldered to the Motherboard

I looked at a Video on different Model replacement job, but the Jack position Placed it on the Motherboard (Soldered)

However, the Jack on this machine A53U is right up near the Hinge & in line with the Battery (Hence my Presume)

It seemed to make sense, a socket so constantly geting action would be better NOT soldered to the Motherboard directly, but I have never seen that

Mine could also be wishful thinking, as that sounds easier to repair

I am asking for Help, because I really dont know what to do next

Really looking forward to your reply, appreciated

Thanks

The info you gave did not help much. I suggest just taking the notebook apart and check it out for sure. For the power jack that is being soldered onto the board, as long as the board is not damaged, it is quite simple to remove and replace the jack, with some simple soldering
