Was this hard drive ever completely formatted/erased and a clean install done on it..If so, then your restore partition is gone and there would be no hope of restoring it to factory settings without the restore disks..Your only alternative would be to find restore disks for that exact model or find a copy of XP (same flavour that is on there ie Home, Professional etc) and install it using the Operating system key number on the bottom (sticker). then installing all the pertinent drivers for that model from Acer

If the hotkeys don't work get a copy of gparted-live unhide & change boot flag to boot recovery partition.
Also there is a .bin file that has been deleted you can replace it. It's also in your recovery partition.
If windows is still bootable you can use recovery console to unhide it & copy to existing installation.
I believe that it's RTL.. bin I have to look it up.
