Any help / suggestions will be tremendous!
My Asus N81VP-D1 has been causing some issues. Whenever I attempt to play a game (such as Sims 3), the game won't finish loading. The laptop automatically shuts itself down. Also, when I turn the machine on, subsequent it shutting itself off, the machine will shut itself off again if the game disk remains in the drive.
So, I thoroghly cleaned the fan, cpu and gpu and replaced the old thermal paste with Artic Silver 5.....and nothing. The same thing happens when I try to play a game. Now I'm not sure what is broken here... Since the laptop is out of warranty I was thinking of baking - but I'm not sure what to bake: Motherboard? Graphics Card? Both?. Some say the graphics is integrated into the motherboard, but I held the card in my hand (a separate object from the motherboard - plz see attached photo of independant card).
Or, is there a break-in period to the thermal paste? Should I wait to bake? So confused...I'm new to this.
