I think the S500C is a great notebook, but I've had just a couple minor issues.
First is that the touch screen sometimes stops working. I fix it by going into hardware troubleshooting, it fixes some USB stuff and starts working again. But I'd like it to just work without having to do that. Does anyone have any idea?
I called Asus and they said to update the chipset driver. I did what their tech support said, but it didn't help.
I see there might be a bios update, but there is a warning on that update that dangerous horrible things could happen and to make sure I'm sure. I'm not sure at all. It seems like dangerous risk taking the day after I get the machine, but I'm willing to do it if it works. I don't know if it will work.
Problem two is that the touch pad keeps making the side menu pop up when in desktop mode. The swipe from right to left gesture is supposed to do it. But it also happen at other times randomnly. So I disabled it with Smart Gesture. But it still happens randomnly sometimes. Then I need to go into smart gesture and press ok again to make it stop.
Except for these two things, I love this laptop, it's just great.
