I've gone into display settings, and advanced settings, but it's set to the integrated graphics card, and won't let me alter the settings on it to turn off the hardware acceleration. Not sure how I can do it for the Nvidia graphics card.
Gaming Issues (nvidia geforce GT 540M) - Page 2
1) create a restore point
2) "Disable" the driver of the display adapter in question within devices manager
3) for AMD and nVidia, you might want to use stock Windows compatible drivers
I've messed around with disabling the graphics cards. I also deleted the driver for the Nvidia card, and re-installed it. Went through the options and noticed that the "global settings" for the card was on balanced or powersaver (I forget which) so set that to high performance too.
Not sure which bit did the trick, but my games are now running as they should, with no lag, running smoothly and with the graphical settings at maximum. With any luck this is all sorted now!
Thanks for the help!
