Bought an Acer Aspire 5830TG-6642 (Windows 7) last year and an Asus S400C (Windows 8) this year and am having issues with both having very jumpy trackpads. When typing, the cursor jumps around, 'grabs and drags' capriciously and just are generally pains to use.(Using a couple of programs that 'freeze' the trackpad, but not working as well as hoped.)
I don't need a trackpad that pinches, zooms, rotates, etc. What I need is one that let's me type and click without interfering with my work.
Are there any laptops with trackpads that function something similar to my old Dell 9400 - precise control, nothing fancy - but let's me click where I want the cursor to be placed without fighting for control of placement.
