Greetings, forum. As you can probably guess from my post count, I'm not very experienced in the world of laptops and have a large amount of questions in order to improve the performance of my laptop. I do have exoerience with desktops and such and can probably make a logical inference as to most of the questions that I am about to ask but I want to be sure.
Firstly, I want to point out that I have a Dell Inspiron N5050 Laptop and I want to greatly improve the performance of it. I've come to the sad realization that I can't use a dedicated graphics card because the one onboard is chipset. So is there any way I can change the motherboard to one that supports dedicated graphics? If so, what are some options that I have that fit the N5050?
Secondly, the CPU is i3 and I would LOVE to overclock, but I know that this thing gets pretty hot as it is. Is it possible to upgrade the fans inside? If so, what are some good laptop fans out there? Is Cooler Master a reliable brand?
Lastly - and this might be a stupid one but, - is there any such thing as a custom BIOS? I would love to change the BIOS to something that has more options and is more graphically pleasing. It's not a huge thing, the current one looks nice, I just want to know if they exist. I would imagine it to be difficult in my case because I am running Arch Linux but I would still be willing to try.
Anyways, thanks in advance for answering these.
