I am new here I. have a Dell Inspiron N5110 laptop that is just out of warranty, Dell wants $299 + Tax to have it fixed.
With that kind of money I will buy a new Laptop. (Not Dell)
Here are the symptoms.....The power transformer has a green light and I tested the voltage it's around 19 V DC.
I had another unit, it measure the same some symptoms when I plug it in. When I connect the power the only action is the DVD unit, the light goes on...The fan doesn't run, the power button is not lit and nothing happens when you push it. That's it.
I Took the laptop apart...Looked at Video on Youtube to show me how.
I think the problem is the little board that has the connection to the power transformer, it also has the the VGA connection and a USB port Dell considers it a Daughter Board. Did some research the part is available from a US Supplier fro $35 plus shipping.
Has anyone had any experience with this problem?
Am I on the right track?
