Id like to hear your opinion on whether it is worth it to upgrade an older laptop, to be precise, Toshiba Qosmio f50-125 with a ssd drive. Ive been doing some research on google and most of the articles say its a huge preformance improvement when it comes to hdd heavy duty tasks. Im using my laptop mostly for recreational online poker playing, and basic stuff like browsing, MS Office tasks rarely some CATIA v5 and Wolfram Mathematica work for school, and for streaming and playing HD video. Ive been satisfied with my laptop for past years, but after i added one more screen, so i can do more things at once (usually video stream or playback on one of the screens and playing poker with relatively large database using software running on background) ive come to a point when the system starts to feel laggy. I would like to hear your opinions if and SSD drive would be a significant improvement to the performance of the laptop, and also your suggestions on what ssd drive to use. i was looking at crucial m500 or samsung 840 evo which seem to be in my price range. Im not considering upgrading RAM since its costly to upgrade ddr2 nowadays and it would cost me around twice as much. Im running Win 7 64bit system,.
Any opinions and suggestions highly appretiated.
