Question regarding on-board sound

What is the on-board sound card like in the Sager 8790's? I have a Klipsch 5.1 Promedia system and currently use my Audigy Gamer x 5.1 as the soundcard. Is the Sager 8790 going to be able to pump out 5.1 surround sound with the on board sound card? This is very important for me since I love to blast my music through my computer located right next to my window with the neigbhors who I don't like on the other side of it.

Don't get me started on how bad the sound is!

#1. There is horrible interferrence from all speaker ports.
#2 #1 might not be so bad if you can output digital, but guess what... there is interferrence on the digital out too, and it only passes 2 channel digital which believe it or not sounds horrible... distorted with interferrence and not right, also it does not do a direct pass through when playing CDs so it sounds just as bad playing any source... CD MP3 DVD... does not matter, it all sounds bad.... and no dolby digital or DTS output at all. With crappy speakers I guess some people might be happy with the sound, but with your very good Klipsch speakers I think you will be dissapointed since those speakers reveal all problems with the source sound.

The sound capabilities of the 8790 are pathetic in my opinion. I am thinking I will need to get the external Audigy sound card if I want good sound from this laptop, and digital output of surround sound. The supposed sound capabilities of the laptop sound great on paper, but in real life they are not up to snuff. Not to mention the sound control panel for the laptop is completely unintuitive and very hard to get it to do what you want. Trying to get digital output to work took a very long time, and when I finally did get it to work it sounded horrible.

I appreciate the speedy reply. Looks like I'll be going with an external USB sound card! Thanks a lot!

I bought an extigy external for my 8890 for the poor sound and its awsome. The sound was only poor in the respect that it wasnt very loud. The extigy I got at circuit city was priced wrong and I got it for $79, unfortunatly they would only let me get one.
