9700 Uk

Hi,

Has anyone in the UK placed an order including the 9700 and has been told the wait time?

I'm in a position to order, telephoned and was told there is zero wait which suprised me. I got the feeling that the salesperson wanted to secure the order then deliver the blow on waits after.

The problem I have is that I am currently working overseas and am only back in the UK infrequently. I need the system to be delivered to coincide with my next visit, approx 4 weeks away.

I'm not too keen on the system being delivered to my current location. I will incur additional shipping costs and VAT (since VAT rate is higher here than the UK). Additionally I'd prefer to check the system in the UK.

HI Nicke,

I spoke to Alienware (UK) regarding backorder stuff and apparenlty they are waiting on the ATI 9700. All they could say is maybe in the next week they will get a shipment from the US. I ordered mine end of April, it's now May 20th and I'm on Stage 6.

Ordered mine 7th May, i'm in phase 5 and according to their tech rep I've been asked to phone tomorrow (Friday 21st May) to see if the ATI9700 have arrived. He seemed to think they would have them this week.

Thanks for the info.

I'm back in the UK on June 18th so it will be tight if the cards are not received ASAP.

Can you let me know the outcome if you phone today?

Nicke, Just called them and the delivery date for the ATI9700's is now 24th may

Gutted, this means my system won't move another phase for ages yet

Oh well, at least they seemed positive that the delivery date is firm.
