thanks rincewind..tried searching but nothing came up..

this is the alternative counterpart to the chembook?
I think rincewind is a little confused. The ChemBook 2230 is based on the Compal AT23, and rincewind's notebook is a Compal CL56. They are clearly two different notebook models.

The only thing that would worry me about the ChemBook 2230 is the low XGA screen resolution and the NVIDIA graphics card. Other than that, it looks alright to me, but it looks to be a generation or two old. Personally, I would try to configure an Asus M6N or a Compal CL56, I think you can customize a fairly decent notebook while still sticking close to your current price.

oh i thought he made a typo

i just looked over the specs... it has a gforce card

why would u want an nvidia card over an ati card!

well im basiclly just trying to configure with my price range at a good battery and weight so whether its a nvidia or ati, ill be making that decision when its time to narrow down the choices

also i dont really need 128 64 is plenty enough
