Cool & Congrats!

Ironically, I've had my beast for a month or two and have never benched-marked it. I suppose BF1942 and Unreal2 at 1600x1200x32 maxed out and smooth/flawless is good enough for me.

I just never understood the obsession with benchmarking, I mean, either your system will run game "X" or it won't...

Well, back to your system: SWEET! Did you get any dead/stuck pixels? How about heat and battery life, what is your impression?

Finally, did you use PowerStrip to overclock or another utility?

pros and cons...

Benchmarking is basically a test to check if your system is up to the rated performance standards. You can use the results to make the changes or correct errors you made during installation etc.

Sometimes the benchmarks will point to potential hardware problems which will need either a replacement or a return.

The trouble is benchmarks have been pinned with bragging rights and people unnecessarily try to oc their systems to get a higher score. While this looks good on your laptops resume it doesnt improve your games in any way. There is the added danger that you might void your warranty or damage your system in the process...

I would never publicize oc'ing because there is always a chance that someone finds out who you are and what you are doing to the laptop...someone from sager or philips (who know's what people read these forums)...and they might not honor your warranty...

Either I am right about being cautious or I am a paranoid pissant.

I think I know what I am

Nope i dont see any dead pixels. Overall its a really really nice machine. The only drawbacks to this laptop is probably the weight and battery life. i usually have it plugged in, but for those moments that im running on the battery, im usually worried about how much longer i have. Oh and i used rage3d tweak...

Gsferrari. what do you mean it wont improve games in anyway? i play morrowing and it seems to me that there has been a improvement.
oh ahh overclocking.. you mean i can get in trouble by overclocking? i thought advancing the clock on the toolbar by 5 minutes is ok?

I think benchmarks (at least, the 3dmark ones) are fun to watch. I guess, also to see how much of a difference the desktop graphics cards are between the laptop ones.
