Very nice article. They expect it to be mainstream by 2005

Even though it had already been posted.....

I still think it was nice to post it here too, since many (myself included) do not go to the other sections of the forum too often. Sager all the way for me.

Shank, that's exactly why I posted it here. Not everyone traverses to some of the other sections.

Thanks for the post here. Yes I don't normally go past Sager and the General/OT sections (sometimes over to Dell, since I still own an old I-3700).

I noticed Tatung as one of the launch partners. This could be interesting for the SPARC clone and notebook markets (yes these exist - swing by www.rdi.com).

Of course, Clevo was another launch partner. I'd be watching the next few Sager notebooks that PC Tourque announces.

Why do people not visit the other parts of the forums? Its not like you cant go there unless you own one of those notebooks. I personaly go all over the place and try to help whereever I can. Just seems strange to me, that there seems to be this form of unwritten rule.

This can be very confusing to those who use the "New Posts" function.

Maybe because they don't care about the Alienware, Dell and all the other forums posts? Personally I don't want to spend 2 hours trying to read all the posts that are made on this board, so I just read the ones that are in the forums that interest me. This post was the first place that I had even heard about mxm technology, so personally I'm glad it was posted here.

I'm glad they are finally taking the next step towards true user upgradable graphics.

Now that is great news.

Thanks for posting that here, Elite.

Sounds like ATI have been working on its own upgradable PCIe graphics form factor. I also think Intel may have one in the works (there is something about small form factor PCIe cards for notebooks in some early 3GIO brochures)...another standard war is comimg, it seems...funny, industry-wide standards and incompatibility shouldn't go hand-in-hand...

A lot of times it's a time factor. I hardly ever hit the Gateway/Toshiba/Dell pages. Since I first came here seeking Alienware, I still wander over there and stick my 1/2 cent worth in where it's not welcome But other than that, it's just that there are so many new threads here ev'day, I don't always have time to read much of anything else, so I "stay close to home."

Nothing wrong w/ venturing forth if you've got all your party members, tho'!

I dont ever necessarily click on the Dell or Gateway or those big brand name forum sections either, but instead I just go to the main page, and scan everything quickly, and if something catches my attention I will go there. I just feel that some feel its like breaking the rules to go to another section...
