Ahem. It costs around 85p a *litre* where I am. Whats that... erm.... $1.50. We gave up on counting in gallons years ago. It costs about $70-$80 to fill my Subaru Impreza Turbo up, and they have pretty small tanks.

Interestingly I watched a program a couple of years ago that said it costs less in the UK to produce a barrel of oil in the UK than on average in the US. Just we have crippling tax on petrol cos the government hates motorists. Heh, apparently 15,000 people were locked up last year for motoring fines, and only 10,000 for burgalry. Nice.

Still, people say that we don't have big swings in petrol prices (because of the massive tax) like other countries. Great.

Just getting another loan to fill me car up....

Cheers

here in south east michigan

Gas has been running at about 1.85/gallon for the last several months, but just this week hiked to 2.04......goo thing I filled up last weekend when it was still cheap....heh.

When I first started driving in '93 gas was .80/gallon. *sigh*

I just do not get how gas prices are set. IS there 3 times as much usage of gas thus driving up the prices? OR is there only 1/3 of the supply of crude? or are the gas companies seeing that demad is up 20% so we should increase prices by 300%??!?!?!?!?
