If this made it into the production model, then wow! Too cool. Check out these pictures suggesting that the Asus W1N has an array of LED's the are hidden inside the front edge grill, which can display info and text!

damn! Why on earth does every company have to ruin their lappys? you got Acer throwing 4200rpm hard drives into DTRs and now you got a very sweet system from Asus with only a 9600 64mb video card. Seriously, what are they thinking? I guess cocaine does things to you.

Hmmm...this Mobility Radeon 9600 64MB (M10-CSP64) may be faster than you think. It is one of the few that uses on-chip memory. Although there is no real evidence of on-chip memory performing faster than discrete graphics with off-chip memory, it is highly possible that this architecture may be faster. Plus it would be very easy to upgrade this chip with a pin-compatible Mobility Radeon 9700 with 128MB onchip memory. (For Asus, not for the end user).

Additionally, the LED array made it to the production model. The model is already available in a few countries, and there is a US MSRP (although I can't remember the number at this point). The LED display is an optional configuration, however. The manual now on Asus' website shows this.
