Weird 8790 TV-Tuner problem.. Need some advice

Well this is my second 8790 (replaced old one for new screen) and I don't remember this issue with my last tv-tuner..

The problem is, when hooking up my xbox/ps2/gamecube console to the s-video in on the tv-tuner the included software is causing a 1-2 second delay in movement? I seriously do not remember this happening on my old laptop, but I never really used it and merely hooked it up to "Test it."

I installed all the recommended apps around this time and here are the results:

1.) Included software causes a 1-2 second delay, good picture&audio
2.) Showshifter causes a grainy picture with no audio
3.) Beyond TV causes a 3-4 second delay with a decent picture
4.) DScaler allows audio but a crappy picture with no delay!

Do I have a bad tv-tuner or could it merely be a couple settings I am overlooking? I know the picture isn't going to be "perfect" like on my Sony TV, but I expect a little better then this.. The fact that ever program is doing something different makes me wonder exactly what is up with this thing.

Any advice is appreciated.

Quick update:

Was going to give the tuner another chance and upon coming out of safe mode the system said something about a USB 1 device plugged into a USB 2.0 port? Then it told me to remove the device.. I ignored it but the TV-Tuner was gone. I rebooted and its still not coming up. About to unplug it and plug it back in to see what that does.. Not looking good.

Hooked the PS2 up again and this time under AvStudioII it runs great with no pauses, clear picture, etc. Hook up the xbox same pause problem.. must be a setting on the xbox or something that the tv-tuner doesn't like. I will try a few other things and report back.

had same problem...different solution

I found that if I ran my PS2 through an RF adapter (RCA plugs from PS2) there was an unbearable delay.

I switched to a PS2 S-video output cable directly into the tv tuner card and [poof!] no more delays in playing games.
The good news: NCAA Football for the PS2 is now playable and theoretically, the picture should be better.
The bad news: I'm out the dough it cost to buy the new cables.

I see the same exact thing. I'm using the very best monster cable available for s-video input and I still get the delay. Speaking of DScaler, what tv card manufacterer and model did you use during setup for you're 8790? Also, how did you get to the S-video input portion of the program (can't find it in any of the menus). Why would the xbox see a delay, and the PS2 not? hmm.
