How does the ATI compare to the Nvidia card? Is one better then the other or just personal preferance?

Also I've read that this laptop comes with different LCD's. Like a Hitatchi or a Samsung. Is this true? If so what is better and how do I make sure I get one?

Thanks,
Bohh

Yes, as of the moment the i8600/ i9100/ D800/ M60 and XPS ship with:

WXGA: Hitachi, Samsung
WSXGA: Hitachi, Samsung
WUXGA: Samsung, Sharp, Toshiba

In the past the only ones to really watch out for were the Hitachi displays, with all the rest pretty much coming in equal. However recently the new Hitachi revisions have started shipping which meet those others, so do not worry about what screen you will get at this stage.

However, if you have more queries please search the forum as there are dozens of topcs on this matter.

What about the WSXGA+. Is that the same as the regular WSXGA, brand and reseloution wise?
As far as I know, there is no WSXGA resolution, and definitely Dell only offers WSXGA+ (1680x1050). Apparently many users mention WSXGA when they actually refer to WSXGA+.

I hope DELL-sakor1 will eventually correct the typo in his signature in order not to spread this confusion!
Well there is no WSXGA, only WSXGA+. 99% of people here know exactly what you're talking about when you say WSXGA so it really does not matter.......

I know how you mean. I ate the Malaysian curry chicken at the Chinese retaurant near Uni the other week and had that same horrible experience.... lasted 4 days *shudders*

Well my pain started on tuesday and after 3 day with it on thrusday i desided to go to the hospital and that is where they told me what i had. but im much better now.

Good to hear you recovered. I'm famous for eating leftover crap that just shouldn't be eaten, but even I won't touch old Chinese food.

Good to hear. The moral of the story: Chinese food is really "yummers", but can be deadly... and so can the chopsticks so use a fork.

LOL and is not hard to eat with Chopsticks. after trying to eat rice with two sticks now i know y Chinese eat the way they do (meaning when they bring the plate up to there face like if there plate is going to run away from them).

Glad your better too!

When you say "footprint" do you mean the overall size of the laptop or something else?
Footprint is the space it takes up on the desk, in width and length, and doesn't account for thickness. In other words, looking straight down on it, what area does it take up.
