My guess is Eurocome likes to tease the public, and thereby increase the overall interest in themselves, even if some of the products morph into a slightly different iteration then first announced. Some would call this just good marketing on thier parts... However, I do agree with you they seem to be somewhat pricey.
I second that. I like visiting Eurocom's site because they always have pictures of future Sager/Hypersonic...etc (Clevo) models. As of model description, it's more or less accurate although they have been known to change specifications here and there as time for product launch nears. Release date? I wouldn't take it seriously. Eurocom is probably off by a few weeks, probably months.

EDIT: The top link ad you provided (EUROCOM Phantom D900T) still has the 64-bit processor in the description? I didn't see anything different than that link provided by computer potato.
You are indeed correct; the link above still indicates the 64-bit processor. However if you drill down from the top in their “Future” section you will notice that the description for the Phantom D900T model has now change, and no longer include the 64-bit processor. My apology is extended for conveying wrong information to all…

ok so I have a noob question....

I was going to buy the 8790 sometime in august, but now everyone here seems to say this new NP4750 is the newest and greatest thing?

I dont get it... other than a 64bit processor, what are the advantages?? I mean how useful is this 64bit chip until windoes releases a 64 bit OS...

Is AMD that much ahead of the curve over intel CPU wise?? and should I just wait til June or July to purchase the NP4750? It just seems to me that the 8790 will perform better (at least on paper). Although it looks to be a grand more than the 4750.

Any thoughts?

Is there an ETA on this thing? I'm looking to buy a notebook in the next two weeks, and I want this!

That was from 5/25. I'm guessing this won't be out till July, though I'm hoping for June. But I'm quite sure it won't be out in two weeks.

I keep looking at the 8790 But too bad it uses a P4. Nothing really wrong with P4, I'm just stuck on AMD. The 4750 will be worth the wait.

Yup, they completely deleted the 64-bit reference as of 05/31. I guess they jumped the gun a little too soon.

i dont see how a laptop will be able to cool those highly hot video cards. No way can they 6800 run in a laptop, most desktop powersupplies will have some trouble(yes i know it only needs 450, but they suggest higher) I can see the x800 pro in there but anything else is just absurd.
I think they're going to be very much clocked down and different from their desktop variety just like the Go and mobiles from Nvidia and ATI are now, they'll just keep a remotely similar architecture so they can make the claim that they can run the latest and greatest DX9 games with ease just like their desktop siblings. Let's just hope it doesn't turn into a dissapointment like the 9700 mobile (don't get me wrong, I love ATI mobile products and admit they are the best, but the name is really misleading when you find out it's still only 4 pipes and isn't a 9700 at all).

How many pins is this system going to use? I assume 754 and not the new socket with 939.

Correct Air.

While it is easy to look at pics of the older 47xx models, and the new one seems to use the same chasis, I figured I would post this pic of the notebook at Computex.

Stalker, at first I thought the 4750 was an 8790 w/ an AMD, but it's only the 4780 swapped over (if I've been readin' correctly, that is). Personally, I'd wait until they release an AMD sibling to the 8790 before buying. You've got time, so be patient and see what comes down the line.

Does anyone know if an AMD version of the Sager 8790 is coming? Does Clevo usually make all their models in both P4 and AMD versions? An 8790 with an AMD64 would be sweet.

G-Omaha says it is expected to be released some time towards the end of the year, and about them usualy making all of their models in both P4 and AMD versions, no not that I know of, and I have been around for about 2 year (about half a year lurking ).

I don't remember the last time, if ever, that Clevos/Sager offered an AMD machine. As far as that release date, what I said was:

Even so - good info.

Note the "AT THE EARLIEST".

There have been some AMD Sagers/clevos, I remember Prostar selling a Sager/clevo.

Here is a link that shows that there was at one point a Sager with and AMD processor. The guys over at powernotebooks also said in one of their forums that they used to use AMD processors.

Your correct. That was the Clevo 982-Series, I just didn't remember it even though that was about the time I was looking for my first laptop.

I was told by Sager that they expect to have Athlon 64 based laptops available in a few weeks. Here is the thread that was created when I posted the news.
