Wireless Connection Dropping

Thread Starter
It seems the past couple of days my wireless connection has been dropping every few minutes. I notice it starts at 56kbs then it just heads down.. until it drops off for a little bit. I just updated to the current driver to see if that could fix the problem but that has not worked. Any clue what could just cause this out of the blue? I have never experienced this and not sure what could be causing it.

Edit - As I am writing this my connection has dropped and I have to wait before it picks back up before I can submit this thread. grrrrrr

Yea, same thing happens to me...when im over at a friends house borrowing a connection from some other house around the neighborhood

But seriously...I have a wireless connection at home in the basement and it works fine, on the 2nd floor, outside, practically anywhere in or around the house. Could it be your main router, maybe boost the signal? I dont know "that much" about wireless though

Edit: Its always showing up as excellent signal. And maybe, if you have another computer connected to your wireless router, are you connecting to it or the main computer. For me, since we havent got around to changing the names and passwords our computer upstairs (i guess you would say a guest) its name is linksys. At first i use to connect to that and get a so so connection, then I changed it to our main computer in the basement (defalut) and that is how I am now getting "Excellent" connection thru my Intel Pro Wireless Card thingy...

Hi I have the Linksys 54G Wireless Router connected to Cable Modem. I was wondering if anyone know if I should use a Booster to make my speed faster. Also what happen if I connect two boosters with the Router? But yeah does anyone know if the booster actually slow down the performance or does it speed it up? Also is the booster really bad for us. Thanks
