Hey everyone, I've had my Sager 5660 for about 2 weeks, and due to a tragic Linux partitioning accident, I had to reinstall XP today. (I installed it myself originally as well). My first install I had no problems getting the acclaimed Intel Application Accelerator to work, but this time once I install it and go in to edit the power management setting I get the error message "Failed to change setting. It may not be supported by this device."
This shows up once I hit okay after selecting Maximum Performance. The HD clicking is really getting to me, I didn't have any problems with it after tweaking the IAA settings the first time. I'm not sure what I've done differently this time, I've tried 3 different sets of chipset drivers, from my original CD, the Sager website, and the Intel website. However, in between these installs I didn't do an uninstall of the first drivers, I'm not sure how to do that, if that could be the cause. I read about this in an earlier post, http://sagerforums.com/forums/showth...&threadid=2105 but the author looks like he solved the problem by reformatting. I really don't want to have to do this, having just come off of a fresh install. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
Andy
