My small space!

Here is my desk as of late. Been selling some Thinkpad 730TE Tablet PCs on eBay. The Tablet is on the left, Thinkpad 380D in the middle (for loading the Tablet HDDs) and my Inspiron 8600.

Like he said, it's the PCMCIA SD card adapter.

Oh, and thank you. It's a comfortable place to spend the morning hours.

That's high praise coming from my ultra-nazi perspective on keeping clean rooms.

Thanks. The room was just a small pantry in our place. Cleaned it out and thought it would make a good little office.

FYI the kitty litter was just there temporarily!!

I figure since I'm not going to have a place for my laptop at all and just use it wirelessly as much as possible...I could post my "home office" setup...big images so I'm only linking...
The overview of everything...I know...messy...it gets that way quickly...
The Brick listed in my sig (my current laptop) is in this first picture (circled).

My Gaming Computer, Frig, and networking equipment (including my wireless router, second from the top)
http://www.thunder-god.net/images/DSCN0002.JPG

File Server and Slim PS/2 (Bought just for GTA:San Andreas) (it's located on the floor behind the chair in the first pic)
http://www.thunder-god.net/images/DSCN0003.JPG

My "Shelf" - Had to put my McFarlane Matrix Toy Collection Somewhere...Yes that's a small table stacked on top of the table that my monitors sit on...and yes it's stable. I'm planning on stringing up my Sentinel (on top of the stereo) to the Heating Vent Directly above my desk (the stand that came with it broke under it's weight).

You only know half of it...my bed is on the other side of the room and 3/4 of it is covered in crap...I REALLY need to throw out a lot of junk and clean up that place. I'm a bit of a packrat.

A lot of the stuff is old comptuer hardware that I'm just storing instead of getting rid of it.

I converted the two comptuers in the pictures over from full size towers...those are sitting out in the hallway. I'm using an old 400mhz Gateway tower for an end table...just the right height and solves 2 problems at once. I bought the Gateway plus the monitor on the rack to the left in the first picture from my old boss for $20 just before he left the company. (he was moving to Texas.)

How many of you guys have file servers and how much better is it from just getting a huge external drive?
Well... it lets me get my files from all around the house, and online via ftp or web. Very handy. And a bous, geek_rate++

My file server hosts about half of my files...the other half is on the two big drives in my gaming computer. It's called the file server more because at lan parties I throw it up to host game patches and driver updates....it's easier for people to find it when it's called fileserver instead of me calling it odin...

Between the two computers I have somewhere just under 600GB worth of storage.

Got a job for me at Dell?

Pictures of my twin i8600's sitting next to each other on a part of my tiny office space, really plain. Just thought I would share them here. Anyone sees the only noticable difference between the two, not to mention the screens? heh

easy enough, one's got a dell wifi chip or no wifi at all.
