the dreaded recomendation question

Thread Starter
ok i want to buy a laptop in the next few weeks and am wondering if im making the right decision and want to see if you had any other recomendations
i have my eyes on the aspire 1712 right now, but im thinking, is it too much?

here is what i'll be doing
programming and designing
working in, photoshop, illustrator, dreamweaver, flash, a lot of large res images from my digital camera, but i'll tend to have a few large files open in various programs at the same time

what do you think? and anymore input from me let me know

If you're considering the Acer 1700 line are you really sure you want a laptop? For about the same price, you can get a desktop setup with equal or better parts in it. At 15+ lbs, the Acer isn't exactly portable.

yes that is true, and although i'd like portability and power, i don't have the money at this time to have both otherwise i would,
but i figure the acer would give me enough portability, as in moving from room to room or to a friends house, and also if i ever needed to make a presentation, but it would also give me the power i needed, unless thats too much power for what i want to do
