Possible Future CPU upgrades for XPS?

Has anyone taken apart their XPS/9100 yet? If so do you think it would be possible to upgrade the processor later on when faster processors come out or when the price of the P4EE's drop? Also, does anyone know at what clock speed are they going stop making P4's with 478-pin sockets?

Just wanted to see if anyone knew.

at the moment 3.8ghz seems like the max speed but you shouldnt expect much of a performance boost

Thanks.

And also as per Intel's evil Hitler plan, the price will be outrageous enough to make baby Jesus cry the Nile. And don't expect the EE's to drop for some time yet...

I don't think anyone plans to upgrade to an EE anytime soon. But maybe after a year or 2 the EE's and possibly the 3.8Ghz may be cheap enough to replace all our 3.4Ghz and 2.8Ghz to give our 9100/XPS systems a change to keep up with future games.

Who knows what the system reqirements will be in a year or 2 anyways.

you can fine reputable EE's on ebay (oem) buy it now for about $500. then you can sell your 3.4n for 250-300
