Non-AW Laptop bags

I'm not all that psyched about any of the AW trasport options for the sentia I've got on order so I've been doing some looking elsewhere. Has anyone got a particularly cool bag for their lappy and would willing to share details with the rest of the class? Here are a couple of things I've found particularly compelling so far...

Timbuk2 Commute

Spire Endo

Leather-Briefcases.com Antique Leather (yeah I know it's a little old-school... but DAMN!)

The Alienware backpack is really nice. You should consider it. It's very safe for the laptop and has an ass load of pockets and other such storage spaces for you to put your junk in. I'm gonna be traveling with mine this summer, and I know this backpack will work perfectly.

Our A51m Powerbrick would never fit in that bag Rince...although it looks nice for a Sentia .

Um... how big is your powerbrick?? Cause if it's anything like the ones my IBM thinkpads have, then it won't work... I'm guessing that yours is about an inch and a half wide, have an inch tall, and about 3 inches long? Our are literally the size and weight of bricks... It's kinda massive...

I'm looking for something in an over-the-shoulder or messenger bag type form-factor. I like the concept of the backpack, but it would be inconvenient for air travel compared to a slimmer bag. The only thing I worry about with the smaller bags is the level of padding and protection they afford to my new baby. And I'll admit it, I wan't it to have some semblance of style. After all I did buy and alienware. So I think my requirements are reasonalble .... small, but big enough to fit a mouse, ac adapter, and some CD's, light-weight but with bombproof protection, all in a package that doesn't look like every other lappy bag out there, but still doesn't scream STEAL-ME.

Victorinox makes excellent, durable, and highly functional bags. Would highly recommend both the WebMaster (non-wheeled) and the WebMobilizer Plus (retractable wheeled). Have owned both at one time or another (use WebMaster now), and the quality and overall functionality of both bags are extremely high.

Also considered Booq, Crumpler, and Tom Bihn as well. Have not yet personally experienced these bags in particular (aside from Victorinox, as mentioned), but found them all quite interesting. You may want to read through this thread, where several users made suggestions, and reported their experiences with different bag manufacturers.

Word of caution: would recommend opting for nylon over leather if one makes regular use (two to three times per week, at least) of their bag. Have never fond leather to hold up well under heavy usage.

Good luck.

BOOG ! ! !

Weird name...

* Leather looks good when it is worn and beat up. I have this jacket that people always ask where I got it from. Did not get the same reaction when it was new.

You just killed it for me bro!

I was already considering getting one. You lost the sale for them. :-)

Awesome thread on notebook bags. I have already ordered the Timbuk2 Commute after reading a ton of good reviews on them. Should be here Tuesday. I'll do a little writeup once I have my filthy mitts on it.

I have the Targus BlackTop and it works great. It has all sorts of pockets and great protection. The inside also matches the conspiracy blue color.
