Driver CD from PCTorque

Thread Starter
Hi all,

I am a happy 5680 user and have had my laptop for about a year now. I am well aware that the drivers and utilities are outdated and am wondering if PCTorque or another Clevo/Sager vendor release an ISO to download the most recent and updated drivers&utilities.

If not, is there an official download site with all the drivers and utilities I need? And what is the best order to do them in - much the same as what the PCTorque manual instructs? Clean install, chipset, graphics, etc??

Thanks for your time.

When I talked with Sager support...they said their machines go out with the latest drivers available up to a point. Basically, if the driver has been released at least 2 weeks, and you order a machine, you should get the updated drivers. I got my machine last week and haven't really looked at the drivers yet...the unit is awesome and works like it should.

I think the easiest way to find out is to go to the component manufacturer's site and look and see what the latest driver version they are offering and then comparing that to what is on your machine. Most stuff I wouldn't bother updating. If it works, leave it. Update your video only after they have been around a week or two. Other people like to dink with their machine.

So a quick question- if I wanted to update my drivers for various things such as the touchpad, etc... so i need to uninstall the old drivers first? I know thats the case with the video card drivers, but what about the other drivers?
