Compal CL56 vs. Aopen 1557

I'm looking to get a laptop but I'm split between getting the Compal CL56 or the Aopen 1557. I read the 6 page thread, "1557 dothan on IBUYPOWER", but no one really gave an answer to which is better. Since they both are roughly the same price for the same configuration and I dont care about getting a shinny paint job, I need some advice on which I should get. Thanks in advance!

take the plunge and go for either

they are the same speced out/price wise

only differences are little nitty gritty things which are minor

i was in the same position and i went with the cl56 on powernotebooks.

the aopen, while having cooler colors and being a bit sexier, has the exhaust problem, not to mention the fact that you can't simultaneously push more than two keys on it. that's a huge problem for any gamer.
plus, there are many on thsi forum who have the cl56, so we've got a little community here shoudl anyone have any problems. i think that's great. in addition, ibuypower does not have a good reputation, and their warranty sucks. stay away.

ibuypower doesn't have a good reputation? Why do you say that? I haven't heard many bad things about ibuypower.

I think he meant spotty rep, which is a very reasonable opinion based on their resellerratings.
