The Battery sucks and it overheats

I bought an NP8790 recently with an extra AC adapter and I already had to replace the battery. Also the sucker runs so hot!!!! Does any one know the answer to the following questions:

1) Has anyone experienced this problem? When the battery is charging, the charge LED blinks on and off, sometimes there is no light. sometimes its green (i.e. fully charged). When I try to turn on the laptop (thinking that the battery is charged), it does not turn on. Only with the AC adapter will it turn on. AND the battery charge indicator thru WIN XP always is at 64%. I had Sager replace the battery, but the same problem occured.

2) Has anyone tried putting the laptop on a large metal tray? Someone suggested that the tray acts like a heatsink, dispersing all the heat. Frankly, I walk away with 2nd degree burns after 2 hours of BF Vietnam!!!!

Can anyone please help!!!!!!!!!1

Somebody obviously didnt do his HW before making a purchase decision. Of course the battery sucks, and of course it gets hot. And about the burns, do you use it on your legs?

No! I am talking about my fingers from the keyboard! Someone mentioned that there is an EXTERNAL battery out there?

I dont think there is an external battery, they were probably referring to a battery pad, such as those sold by electrovaya.

You were playing about the burns right? I would imagine that with 2nd degree burns, your fingers would pretty much be unusable for some time.

I knew about the battery. I have the laptop hooked up to my 60" Sony XBR950. I have a drawer in the wall unit where I keep the laptop. I want to built a custom space for this and that is why I am askiung the questions!

.....and a Bose 35 lifestyle surround sound system! It takes digital coax in and optical. One of the things I am trying to figure out is how to hook up the laptop using it's S/PDIF out?

Doh! I wasnt talking about you

I was talking about this other guy, who is just mentioning all this stuff that he owns despite the fact that it doesnt even matter to the questions at hand.

I am a HUGE AV buff! One of the things I believe in is a HTPC (Home theater PC). In my case it is an MHTPC. (mobile)

And IF i get a 8790 or AMD 17" (i hope i hoep i hoep) i might get that additional pad LOL.

I've seen my friend, who owns a Fujitsu N series (one with 9000 card) burn out the gfx a couple of times because he treats the poor thing as a desktop, gaming almost 24/7. Poor bastard has no knowledge of computers watsoever, so the lappy suffered. We dont want that to happen, for the intelligent and caring owner that we are.

Since the S/PDIF jack is 3.5 mm, can't I just get a 3.5mm to rca connector from radioshack, and then use a regular digital coax cable?

Doh! There used to be a guy here on the forums who was really good with audio stuff. His user name is GSFerrari. You might want to email or PM him, as he is a real audio freak.
