Coming from you, that means a whole lot Craig, so thank you. Btw, I'm gonna be ordering an antec cooler soon, so I'll edit in a post with a review of it with pics, as well as a review of the backpack with pics soon as I get the pics and get around to reviewing the backpack.

where are the pictures? i want to see this baby. also, that sounded like a complicated process to install the video card, atleast was a learning experience. are they allowing you to hold onto the 9600 now? maybe as a gift for making the mistake?

Morkai

How about telling us something about the computer's actual performance other than your overwhelming joy of owning a name? Aren't you a little pissed that Alienware, which stresses extreme quality, shipped you a wrong component? Aren't they supposed to test the system multiple times to make sure that it works in top performance?

it was working in top performance, with the wrong part however. it could have been an error in their specs, and if they are testing based on the wrong specs, then there was no way to fix the problem. atleast they handled it correctly, and i am sure that if there is any other future problems, they will be right there to take care of that as well.

I've been reading these forums for a long while, I registered weeks ago.

I have hate in my life? Not really. I'm just trying to figure out the Alienware phenomenon.

If you'd been reading these forums for weeks, I'd think you'd already know what Alienware is about.

Keep reading...the truth is out there

You wanna know about performance Mork? My system has proved more powerful than any desktop that any of my uber hardcore gamer friends' computers. My laptop has kicked their butts beyond anything and everything. If you've really been readying this forums for a long time, then you wouldn't need to have my opinion as you would have read the opinions of at least 20-25 others that feel the same way...

Hey all! check out the first post for my newly edited review, WITH PICTURES!!!!!!

My good friend built a computer the summer of '02. He has since made two upgrades, which probably cost him around $500: an Athlon 1900 (Which is somewhat older these days) and a Radeon 9800 Pro. He tears up an Alienware laptop, and scores nearly 2000 more points on 3DMark03 scores. He has only paid 500$ in the last year and a half, and only about $2000 total. I'd say he cleaned up. I wouldn't compare desktops to laptops Daegras, but you are the one who brought it up.

Um, Mork, I really don't care what you say or think. My laptop owns and that's that. Plus, I could get to a lan much more easily than your friend, so my system has that advantage... By the way, I would not continue trolling these forums like you are, or you may meet the same fate as others who have trolled our forums... *coughAmircough*

Truthfully, with current technology it is not possible for the best laptop to beat the best desktop PC. I will tell you one thing though, just a year or two ago it was unthinkable to be able to use a laptop for gaming. Now you can easily pick up a laptop to play games like Farcry, that is great. Everybody has their own preferences and they should be respected.

By the way Daegras, nice pics. How about a pic of your setup on your desk?

Um... I don't really have a desk per say. what I do have is this. An empty space in my office downstairs to put the laptop, mousepad+mouse, and my headphones. Where i am now, I just stole a high standing end table type thing which has enough room for the laptop, mousepad+mouse, and headphones. So there's really no magic setup
