Best laptop for college student who plays games?

Thread Starter
Hi I'm looking to get a laptop that is convenient for taking to my classes and can handle games well. This laptop I'm hoping to get 3-4 years of life out of.

So far, the Sager 5690-V is the one I've been reccomended.

Any suggestions as to what the best computer suited for my use would be?

I've got a $2500 budget to work with.

that sager's a beaut - well, i think its ugly, but its components are great. the only thing i'd recommend is maybe looking at voodoo, velocity micro, hypersonic, alienware and the dell 9100 because (i think) they've all got the option for upgrades down the road, which would make those 3-4 years more bearable.
i think pctorque would do that with the sager. am i wrong?

Hypersonic has some good P-M options around $2500 the CX5 abd the CX6.

Do you plan on taking this laptop anywhere? If so.. 10+ pounds and a little over an hour battery will probably be a nuisance, if not then by all means go for it. I came very close to ordering the 5690, its top of the line as far as performance goes, but i think i will benefit from 4+ hours battery and can cope with the performance hit.
If battery life / mobility is a bit of an issue, check out the CL56. It's got the Dothan, 9700, 7200rpm HDD. Sweet setup if you ask me. Good luck.

As far as upgrades with the sager, they tend to offer this as an option each time they release a new graphics card or mobo... (assuming they will continue to use the same case) Costs 600-700 bucks though.
