Hey All

I have a 8886 spec really don't matter for this problem....

I decided to run a CHKDSK on the C drive of my XP Pro SP1.....

well now it is in a continous looping mess.... I shut down the computer restart it... CHKDSK pops up... I cancel and the computer hangs up.... I let it run it runs all the thru the check and reboots.... then starts all over... does the same if I boot into safe mode or any wonderful M$ boot options...

I don't really want to do a repair install if I can help it since I have the CD's at home

Please help!!!

Thanks

Been there

Yeah, I've had that same problem on several different computers. What's weird is that I've also found that no single solution seems to work for different computers. On one computer I had to update IE 6 and it stopped looping. The last known good configuration is the best way to do it...although there is a place in the registry where it tells windows to run the chckdisk at the beginning of bootup and you should be able to turn that off. Also, you might look into CHKNTFS...i think that might work also.
