it looks sesky and has everything the compal has

cept i noticed the FN key is whre the CTRL key should be

that would bother me since im so used to the CTRL being where it normally is for FPS games... thats my crouch key

the exhaust vent is on the left side, which is nice

azstinger just got this laptop,,, havent seen any members here review it yet

They're located right by my parent's house. Man, half these smaller vendors are within 40 miles of me...ABS, PowerNotebook, RJtech, InternetIshop, I BuyPower...etc etc. TAX .

How come the specs say:
"ATI Mobility™ Radeon™ 9600/9700 with Up to 128MB VRAM" ???
Nowhere on their site do they make it clear that it comes with a 128MB 9700 that I can see.

I called them and talked to Richard Wu. He said the mitac will be avail w/ the M11 chip next week. But yes It will come with the radeon 9700 128mb.

http://www.rjtech.com/8050.htm go to that link and you'll see Radeon 9700 Pro on the specs. BTW I bought the mitac today barebones from them for $960 plus $20 shipping

Nice find Rice. I configured it the same as i did on Gamepc. 1554. About 200 dollars cheaper.

Of course u know i hate u now.
Oh so the 1319 price doesn't come with the 9700 yet? So it should be another 200 for the 9700 when it becomes available next week.. Now i feel better about my purchase with Gamepc.

P.S. it was supposed to ship today or tomorrow so i'm keeping my fingers crossed!

i had the mitac "8335" not the 8050

the 8335 is the AMD64 notebook with 9600 pro...

i returned it coz the 9700 came out after I made my purchase, it was a lil heavy (8+ pounds) and left palm rest got warm during prolonged use...

you bought the barebones from them with the 9700 card for 960?
yes, I bought the Barebones with the 9700 card for $960. I called him and emailed him to clarify that. He said there is no price change for the 9700. So I ordered early, before they had it in stock so he couldn't change the price on me, just in case it came down to that.

thats so cool

when u put it all togther be sure to take alot of pics!

i bet you'll save 100-200 bucks or so getting ur own parts
post #18 of 58
Yup will definitely post up pics on a step by step on how I put the notebook together. I was actually gonna try to suprise all of you w/ the price I paid, but you posted rj's site already . hahaha I'm trying to piece together the system for around $1600 total after shipping and tax. I live in california so I have to pay the sales tax ordering anything from RJ tech. The system setup you listed for $1669 will be over $1800 after tax for me. So tax is the big thing here that i'm trying to avoid.
How did you buy the barebone for 960? I dont even see it on the website. Did you have to call in and tell them you want a barebone?
Yes. I actually was emailing RJ for the past week asking questions and what not, about availability of the mitac. Then I just threw in there. "Will you be willing to sell me the barebone, if so how much". And he replied $960 plus shipping. So I guess if you buy the barebone, you won't get the free shipping offer they have on their site. So it will be like $980 + tax if you live in cali. So in total I paid like $1059 ($80 tax)
