Averatec 3225HS Purchase

I just got the 3225HS lappy and so far I'm pretty happy with it...
I'm planning on takeing some pictures and posting a full review (w/o benchmarks because I'm lazy and I dont want to learn how to do it) so look forward to that tomorrow or the next dayish...
(I hope this thing doesnt break on me)

congrats,

i actually saw this notebook in person at CC when i was looking at LCD qualitiy on their machines

its a nice color and really light/compact

although i fell in love with the sony (something) which weihed like 3 pounds and had an UV 1.0 pentium-m w/ xbrite lcd screen

2k price tag however

yeah, this one was about 987 with the tax (only @ CC with the $100 mail in rebate till 5/29/04) I actually got the last one in houston!!!!! HAHA no other circuit city's have anymore of these, however the microcenter in houston should sell the lappy for 999.99 as CC did and then you can get the $100 rebate for getting a MC visa card...
I'm loving it so far, but I want to pull out the digital camera and take some pictures for you guys...

I looked at the sonys...
the only reason I would pay that much would be for the somewhat better construction and the brand name...
But I dont like sony that much anyway so HA!

It was running hot for a little bit, then I calibrated the fan and its running cool now...
I'm in the middle of battery calibration so I'll let you know how that goes...

how do you calibrate stuff? i bought a similar averatec yesterday and would like to konw. so far i am also satisifed with my purchase, although the sony was pretty tempting

when you first turn it on, hit the DEL key kew at that white screen ad enter the BIOS, then go to the thrid one down, i think its caled power management or somthing...
there it says fan training and battery taining... those are the ones...
the fan taes 10 minutes
but the battery one takes a while...
