Acer Aspire 2025WLMi Review, Benchmarks and Pics - Page 2

The general rule would be to assume 4200rpm unless otherwise specifically stated. Other than the Aspire 1700/1710 models which use desktop 3.5" 7200rpm hard disk drives, most models come standard with a mobile 2.5" 4200rpm drive.

However, since the hard disk is so easily upgradeable in all Acer notebooks, I would not use it as a reason to not purchase a specific machine.

The Acer HD is 4200rpm...I know, I replaced mine.

what audio-chip does this notebook have?

omggg... i dig slot load drives especially on laptops . I play counter-strike on my Compaq with a widescreen. I prefer widescreen (1280X800) rather than my 17' lcd on my computer (1280X1024).

Hey Moogleyfive- Great reviews.... thanks! thinking of getting me one, but have you experienced any of the keyboard problems yet."ii" or "nn".

I'm also thinking hard about the 2025, where did you buy yours? Also do you feel hindered in any way by the 4200rpm hard drive? cause thats my main concern with this notebook. Do you think the size would be a bit too big for campus life?
thanks.

Hey guys,

First thing i checked was the keyboard bug, and i'm happy to report it is NOT a problem on the 2025.

And to be honest, i was thinking about swapping out the 4200 rpm drive, but now that i've been using the laptop I'll stick with it. I don't really find it to be that slow at all for general tasks, and the only thing that is a bit slower is loading maps in games - the actual gameplay isn't really affected.

Sizewise, the laptop is very thin, reasonably short, but wide (hence widescreen). I need to use this on campus as well, and I picked this model b/c it had all the features I want in a reasonable size. Once you step up to 17inch it just gets too big. I think 15.4 is def the sweetspot for portability.

Could we get pictures at the bottom of the laptop? and some pictures while playing the thing?
Thx

Thanks for the great review Moogley! 2 quick questions. How much did you pay for it? And where did you buy it?

Thanks for the info. Good to know that i wouldnt be held back by neither size nor hard drive speed.

Do you think the resolution of this screen would be OK for image editing in Photoshop?

Thank you.

how about the display of colurs? because that's a well known issues with tft/lcd mointors... but sony cleared that up with the black onyx technology, but so far, acer doesn't use it in their laptops...?
